Overview

Engagem is an icebreaker activation, where hosts answer questions about themselves on their devices, and then a guest scans a host’s QR code and guesses the correct answers to the host’s questions. Engagem can be used to drive engagement at your event by implementing memorable experiences such as:

1. Two truths and a lie

2. Two lies and a truth

3. Trivia

4. Corporate messaging

5. and much more!

Use Engagem across your entire event, in breakout sessions, networking sessions, or corporate meetings.

Setting up the Activation

To be functional, Engagem requires a capture form that has the field ‘Engagem Feeder’ linked to the activation.

First, an Engagem activation is created, and then, an ‘Engagem Feeder’ is added to the capture form and linked to the activation.

Below is a step-by-step guide for setting up both the Activation and the Capture Form.

Creating an Engagem Activation

• Navigate to Events > Activations

• Click on New

• Enter the activation’s information and choose Engagem (Leaderborad) from the Activation drop-down menu.

Open

• If you have already created a capture form, select it from the Event drop-down menu.

Adding Engagem Feeder to the Capture Form

• If you have not created a capture form, please refer to Creating an Event.

• Drag the Engagem Feeder field to the form.

• If desired, you can click on the Engagem Feeder field to change settings such as:
  Minimum number of questions & answers and the maximum number of questions & answers for hosts.

   

• From the Engagem Feeder properties, make sure that it is set to appear on Activaion form types (or Both).

• While still inside properties, select the activation name from Engagem Activations. (Note that the activations needs to be associated with the capture form first in order to appear among the available choices).

• Once done, Save the form. You are now ready to enter your questions as a host and share them with guests!

Adding Questions as a Host

To create your questions, launch the activation in Host mode and with Capture.

Enter your information, your questions, and your answers, and then submit the form.

Your Code

You will get a pop-up with a code.

That code can be used by other people, if they launch the activation in Guest mode, to answer your questions.

Your QR Code

Once you click Save, you will get your QR Code. The QR code can be scanned by other people to answer your questions without the need to manually enter the code.

Launching the Activation as a Guest

There are two ways to launch the activation in Guest mode and start answering questions, explained below:

Manually

Using the link from the Launch tab, while selecting Launch as Guest.

You will be prompted to enter a code provided by a host.

QR Code

You can scan the QR code generated to the host, to answer their questions directly, without the need to enter the code.

You will then be prompted to answer their questions and get a score.

Customizing your Engagem Activation

Now that your Engagem activation is set up, it’s ready for customization.

Settings Tab

From the settings tab, you have control over the following options:

Allow Repeat Interactions: allows people to answer your questions more than once.

You can also put a limit to the following:

Number of Repeat Interactions: Number of times someone interacts with you.

Number of Participants: The total number of people.

Number of Questions to Display: the number of questions that will be displayed to guests.

Other settings include:

Randomize Questions: Randomly changes the order of the questions.

Allow Host to Edit Questions: using the edit button when they receive their QR codes.

Generate Host QR Code: To generate a QR code after a host answers their questions.

Host QR Code Template: This allows you to choose a custom QR code from your created templates.

Has Timer: This is used to turn the timer on or off.

Timer Mode: This lets you switch between different styles for the timer.

Style Tab

The style tab allows you to customize your activations colors and branding, allowing you to add your logo, and host image placeholder (in case the host user does not have a profile picture). You can even upload a background image for a fully customizable experience.
