When it comes to tracking or not tracking ISPs Lead Liaison provides the flexibility and precision marketers need. Lead Liaison uses proprietary rules and logic along with multiple world-class databases of millions of companies and ISPs to define which entities are and are not ISPs. In total, we're covering over 4B IPs in the routable space. Marketers have two options for ISP tracking. Each of the two options are described in the table below.

The option you choose for your business depends on many factors including volume of website visitors, if you're searching for B2B visitors only and more. Consult with your Lead Liaison Revenue Success Manager for guidance on choosing the best option to meet your needs.

ISP Tracking Options

Settings Apply at the Time of Visit

These ISP settings apply per visitor at the time of the visit. In other words, if your settings are changed, say from Level 2 to Level 1, and you pull up past visitors you may not see the same visitors as you would future visitors with Level 2 tracking on. The reason being that visitors are marked as ISPs using the ISP Tracking Options at the time of the visit.

Tracking Known Leads

Known leads (website visitors whose email address we know) are still tracked and displayed regardless of the option chosen above.

Tuning ISP Tracking

Lead Liaison has built in some rich logic to automatically detect whether a visiting entity is an ISP or not. However, we're not perfect.

In the instance when an ISP slips through our detection logic you can tune your account by reporting a visiting entity as an ISP to Lead Liaison. To do so, do the following:

1) Click the gear under the Actions column next to any visitor
2) Select 'Report as ISP'

Lead Liaison will receive a message, research the inquiry, and accept or decline your request.

If your request is accepting you will no longer see leads from this visiting entity in the future.

How Does Lead Liaison Determine an ISP?

Lead Liaison does two primary lookups to begin determining when a visiting entity is an ISP. First, we identify the visiting entities company name using an IP to Company Name lookup. Then, we determine the ISP issuing the IP address. Pursuant to these lookups, we use the following decision logic:

If company name contains any Strong Keyword below or
If ISP = company and company contains any Weak Keyword below or
If ISP != company and ISP and company contain the same Weak Keyword
Else if company was previously reported and confirmed as an ISP (see "Tuning ISP Tracking" section above)

Keyword Lookup

An ISP is determined by keyword lookups that contain (not equal) the keywords below. For example, a visiting company identified as "Urbanwimax" would be flagged as an ISP since "Wimax" is in the list of strong keywords. We also have a list of exact match keywords below. Keywords are not case sensitive.
