Overview

Buy signals are an out-of-the box way to automatically alert sales of hot leads without having to setup complex lead scoring models. Staying true to the real-time capabilities of our platform, SMS (text message) and/or email alerts can be sent to sales when a buy signal is detected. To further simplify setup, we've grouped together the most common buy signals for you. Configuration is simple and usually takes less than one minute to setup.

Buy signals and buy signal alerts are automatically enabled when your account is activated. Most customers tune their buy signal settings by changing criteria and/or disabling select buy signals after collecting feedback from their sales and marketing teams.

How Buy Signals Work

Below is a list of important items to keep in mind when working with buy signals.

  1. Buy signal alerts apply to leads with a lead owner only and are sent to the lead owner only.
  2. Buy signal alerts are enabled for each user by default, out of the box. They are enabled for Known Leads only; however, this could be changed from Known to All at the user level.
  3. Each buy signal rule is enabled/disabled by your company's Lead Liaison admin and cannot be changed per user. However, the user can choose to completely turn off buy signal alerts.
  4. Users may choose to receive buy signal alerts via SMS (text message) and/or email.
  5. If a buy signal is triggered then an alert will be sent within a five minute window.
  6. Every time a lead you own demonstrates a buy signal +1 shows up in your Alert Center and the specific buy signal is logged in your Inbox.

Combining Buy Signals

The default behavior of Buy Signals is to send an alert for each Buy Signal event. However, if Buy Signals occur too frequently then their frequency can be reduced. Under Settings > App Setup > Buy Signals there is a setting called "Combine Buy Signals". When this setting is turned on, a Prospect's Buy Signal events over the past 60 minutes will be combined into a single email alert.

Below is a snippet from an email alert sent when the "Combine Buy Signals" setting is turned on.

Select one of two options, either suppress the prospect or the prospect's domain:

Managing Buy Signal Suppressions

For example, suppose you never wanted your company to receive any Buy Signals for your own company. In this case, click the "Add Suppression" button on the top of the table.
